Detailed Rules & Prototype Scope

Try to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards keep their value; J, Q and K count as 10. Aces count as 11 or 1. A “soft” hand has an ace counting as 11. Two-card 21 is blackjack and beats other 21s. Equal hands push (tie). The dealer checks for blackjack immediately and stands on all 17s, including soft 17. A player bust ends the round immediately.

To keep the learning task compact, only Hit and Stand are available. No money, bets, split, double, surrender or insurance. Strategy uses the multi-deck S17 total-dependent table: unavailable doubles fall back to Hit (soft 18: Stand), pairs use their hand total. It is a teaching reference, not a guarantee or composition-dependent optimum.
